Amédée Baudit

Amédée Baudit

1825 - 1890

Amédée Baudit was born in Geneva in 1825. He is best known for his landscapes of Berry, Provence and the Pyrenees. He studied painting in Switzerland under François Diday and then went to Paris to continue his studies. In 1861 he began participating in the Salon de Paris expositions in Geneva, Lyon and Bordeaux, where he permanently relocated in 1867. Baudit's work is represented in museums in Bordeaux, Lille, Mulhouse, Reims, La Rochelle and Rouen and his paintings have sold in Paris, New York, London, Amsterdam, Nice, Marseille, Lucrene, Arles and Berne.
