Gianni Cilfone

1908 - after 1946

Gianni Cilfone was born in 1908 in San Marco, Italy. He moved to the United States as a young man, and settled in Chicago. He studied painting at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago under Wellington J. Reynolds and Carl Scheffler. Cilfone was a member of the Chicago Society of Arts, the Chicago Gallery Association, Chicago Painters and Sculptors, the Hoosier Salon, the Brown County Art Association, Audubon Artists and the Salmagundi Club. Cilfone has exhibited his paintings at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Hoosier Salon, the Chicago Gallery Association, the Salmagundi Club, the Audubon Artists, the Municipal Art League and the Allied Artists of America. Cilfone's paintings are currently represented in Michigan City, the Indiana Library, the Hawthorn School in Elmhurst, Illinois, the Mormon Church in Salt Lake City, the Midwest Arts College in Chicago, the Swedish Club in Chicago and Indiana University.
