Giner Bueno

1935 - present

Giner Bueno was born in April, 1935 in Godella, a town along the Valencian coast of Spain. He is the son of Luis Giner Vallas, a distinguished landscape artist. Bueno began painting at the age of 12 with his father. He continued painting at La Academia de Bellas Artes of San Carlos in Valencia, then later in Paris. Bueno is an accomplished Impressionist who paints in the traditions of Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida (1863 - 1932). He paints plein air scenes of working class fishermen, and women in traditional Spanish dress with their children on the beach or at the market. Bueno's paintings are represented in the Municipal Archive museum of Valencia, the Museo Real Maestranza de Caballeria de Seville and the Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art. He is a member of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors of Madrid.
