Jordan Krimstein

Jordan Krimstein, a Chicago native, is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he majored in graphic design and studied painting with Boris Anisfeld, the renowned Russian painter and set designer for Leon Bakst, Diaghalev, Nijinsky, and Pavolova. Krimstein has taught at the Blackhawk Mountain School of Art, Blackhawk, Colorado (Member Board of Directors), Suburban Art Center, Highland Park, Illinois (Member Board of Directors). He has served as National President of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago Alumni Association and is a Member of the School's Board of Governors. Krimstein's paintings have won many awards. In 1995, he received the Silver Hugo Award at the International Film Festival and an Emmy for his paintings that were part of the film "Choosing One's Way". Over the past ten years, Krimstein has developed a series of watercolors representing the famous old synagogues of the world, including recently renovated houses of worship in Eastern Europe as well as a dramatic interpretation of the events during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. He also has painted an array of Chicago scenes and historic sites.
