Joseph Adam

Joseph Adam was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He moved to London in 1856 where he lived at two Upper Eamont Terrace, Boundary Road, St. John's Wood. He was both an oil painter and a water colorist and painted Scottish and English landscapes and rustic scenes. His son was Joseph Denovan Adam, RSA, RSW, the well known landscape, animal and still life painter. He exhibited at the British Institution, the Portland Gallery, the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists. The Museum of Glasgow houses two of his paintings, "View of Glendaruel" and "A Scottish Landscape."
